For the past six years, five red-headed professionals have muddled through the aches and adulations of marriage, procreation, child rearing and periodic regaling the entire messy, exhausting process. We have done it with a unique style all our own. We have done it together – sharing each misstep, insight and a commonly-held perception that the sorority of super moms ever present in our lives – at the park, chairing the PTA, and lurking in roving media-center SUVs – just don’t get it. With play dates, art classes and sports delegated to the child day-shift, we are driven to convene once each month on the 3rd Wednesday – thus the origination of our WWW logo, also known as the “sign of the wench.”

Late in 2007 we bemoaned via e-mail the prevalence of judgmental, competitive, obsessive “soccer moms” who would benefit from a monthly, if not weekly drink. Just like that, “schnockered moms” was born to embody the core wench philosophy: we are a sisterhood that normalizes and celebrates the hard, messy decisions and mistakes required to raise functional, society-contributing children despite their disadvantaged status of being just one of many priorities in their mother’s lives. For the Wenches, one such priority is tended to on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.
